So this area has always had a pesky ant problem, but they've pretty much stayed on the other side of the street. For those of you that pay attention, I got stung pretty bad by a bunch of them when I walked the dogs last year, and they climbed up the leash after one of the dogs dragged is through the anthill. So naturally, I'm wanting vengeance.

So we went to pick up a new propane tank for the grill and lo and behold, there's a shitload of ants near where we park, about 20ft infront of the apartment complex itself. Bow sprayed them down with some kind of car part cleaner + lighter. Nuked them but good. Those were just the ones all over the sidewalk. There were still a bunch next to the sidewalk, in the grass, trying to dig their new hill out. I decided that the best course of action would be to grab the local frogs and let them dine out on the ants, really the flying ones. I'm not real sure if that would work, but I'd rather try a natural method over a chemical one.

So when I'm walking back down to the apartment, there's more of them, AGAINST THE WALL OF OUR UNIT. There's a frog there already, dining on them, but I didn't want to disturb him. I then see these huge red ants (like half an inch long) and the little black flying ants. Bow gets some brake parts cleaner and starts spraying them down cuz we -really- don't want them getting in the walls.

So anyway, anyone know of a good 'natural' solution to getting rid of them so they don't make a nest around here? I've heard lemon juice is good against spiders - that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. We have a lot of frogs, salamanders, and lizards around here, and I don't want to hurt them.
