Le Sigh. On the upside, we went on a wild spending spree this week, in preparation. My camera died a couple of weeks ago, so we bought an Olympus 765-UZ, it has a 10x optical zoom, which just rocks since I like to take a lot of zoomy shots of nature stuff. It's got assloads of other features, it'll take me a while to figure it all out.
In addition, one of the laptops I've been "Daydreaming about" everytime we go to the Tiger Direct store, happened to be on sale. It's an Acer Aspire with the AMD Sempron 2800. It's CERTAINLY not the top of the line machine (It's very low powered infact), but it WILL run PS7. Unfortunately they only had the display model left, fortunately they gave us a discount for it. We pretty much got it for $550. We also bought RAM for it since PS is a RAM whore, and we found out that RAM for this thing is CHEAP as sin (256Mb Corsair for $25).
Tonight I have a healthy to-do list. I've already installed PS7 and most of my filters. I need to add in my brushes and patterns. I installed my Wacom. And I'm thinking about installing my old scanner and taking it with me. Lame? Probably, but now I'm an artist on the road!
But I also have packing to do, so... time to take care of that.
