Don't Do This: Spazzing Customer

This person has to be new to SL, cuz 'veterans' of SL know just how buggy it is most of the time, and how often failed deliveries occur. I'm well aware of it too, and that's why we have signs in our stores telling people what to do if their item is not sent to them. But every now and then you get someone that pays for an avatar, the delivery fails, and they just spaaaazzzzzzzzz. Notice I'm not jumping up to help this guy, I don't want to deal with someone flipping out over something so minor. He'll get his avatar. But I don't want his attitude right now.

Keep in mind that he's IMing me at around midnight. I don't think he stopped to consider that some shop owners actually have to sleep sometime. Regardless, I am up, but I'm not on SL as I work on other things.

Name changed to protect the spazzing.

First, the friend request, sent at 12:13am:
Spaz Master has offered to become your friend in Second Life.

Would you be my friend?

Log in to accept or decline the offer.

Then comes the second friend request, sent at 12:17am:
Spaz Master has offered to become your friend in Second Life.

Would you be my friend?

Log in to accept or decline the offer.

Then come the angry PMs.
[21:17] Spaz Master: i just bought the black wolf avatar from the critters vendor and it didnt send it to me
[21:17] Spaz Master: it was 1500
[21:17] Spaz Master: and all i got was it sayinhg it contacted the server for it
[21:17] Spaz Master: it never sent it to me
[21:18] Spaz Master: [21:14] CritterVendor NW: Contacting server for your product...

Yes, this is what typically happens on a failed delivery. The server can't get through SL's bullshit, and so the request times out. A lot of avatar vendors have to deal with this. As I mentioned, most customers understand and will wait, or rebuy it and ask for a refund for the failed one. NBD, you give them the stuff and move on.

This guy? Oh no.

[21:19] Spaz Master: CAN I HAVE MY MONEY BACK

5 minutes. Spaztime.

[21:21] Spaz Master: im going ot send the report to linden labs

[21:21] Spaz Master: its against tos to take money like that

[21:22] Spaz Master: callede scamming and fraud

[21:22] Spaz Master: and noone who "works at this place is on or has been on

Oh god, a report! He's going to report me! Considering what all griefers get away with when they are PURPOSEFULLY stealing people's money, and LL does nothing, I'm really not concerned. What gets me is that he doesn't even wait 10 minutes for a response, at a time when most people are asleep, before he starts threatening.

You know, anyone else that sent me a PM stating they didn't get their av, I usually jump on SL as soon as I get it and give them the av and apologize. But this shit. Fuck. I don't want to deal with this. I'll wait til I think he's offline before I even try to contact him. What I don't get is why he thinks we'd go on this elaborate ruse to create a shop just to steal his money. His $3. Just to add insult to injury here, he bought an avatar earlier. So he knows that, yes, we are a legit avatar company.

Jesus christ.

About that last post...

The guy has been on SL since February. I'd say that's not a newbie. And he's in a ton of RP groups as well. So I guess he really is just a flakey spaz. I sent him the following reply:

[18:02] Jakkal Dingo: I have paid you back your $1500L for the failed delivery. While you are reporting this to Linden Labs, make sure you mention that it is their server to server communications error that causes these failed transactions to occur quite often. Please do not buy from us in the future if you require absolutely immediate support at midnight on a weeknight in the timezone of my staff.

I'd rather not have the business if I have to put up with their attitude.
