Not exactly sure what happened to the Dell, but it's not working at all now. So Instead of fighting with it, I just decided to get the new machine I've been talking about for the past little while. During the infurating process to figure out what's wrong with the Dell, it apparently took out my Viewsonic monitor. It seems that it's a common problem for Viewsonic LCD's to crap out and not figure out what input it's getting from the video card. So now my VS continues to say "no input" no matter what we try (Though I never tried using VGA with it, but none of the DVIs worked). Anyway, get to play "stop blaming nvidia" with ViewSonic's tech support later. The monitor has a 3 year warrantee on it, and for $600, you bet I'm going to take them up on the offer.
Anyway, the new machine is a 3.2ghz Athlon 64 X2 6400+, 1TB of Hard drive space, 4 gigs of RAM and XP x64 Pro.
I also had to buy a 24" wide screen monitor, just because they were there. The colors wash out a little more than I'd like, but I don't think it'll hurt the graphics too much. The dell's monitor has better colors, so I can always test it on that too. It's a "DCL" monitor, a brand I've never heard of before. So I'm not putting a lot of faith into how long it will last. I did get the extended warrantee on it though.
Vanguard runs great on it. I haven't gotten on SL yet. I still need to install Photoshop and the wacom.
