I've been writing reviews for a couple years now ( mostly Sega's 8-16 bits) on two forums and I think he needs more pictures : a picture helps the reader understanding why the reviewer says this, why that.
Well, not an overflow of pics, but 3-4 is a good number and helps clearing the review, dividing it into distinct sections ( "ah, now he'll talk about that .").

I try to show a photo of the physical support as an intro of the review, so people know what I'm talking about and what to get if my review ever made them want to get the game ^^ .

Hi! I'm the guy writing the reviews (using my throwaway for bad_rpers_suck. Totally need a new LJ if I ever bothered to use it).

I love pictures and videos and agree with you completely, but I refuse to use them unless they were ones I took. Usually the reason is hardware limitations. I can't take screen shots on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, or Ouya consoles without capture cards of some kind, which is a $150+ investment I currently don't have the money for. My android tablet (A Nook HD I just got on black Friday at Target for super cheap) also can't take screenshots, if I ever actually use that for games anyway. I actually just learned how to take screenshots with Playstation Vita the other day, though it's extremely awkward and not all games support it.

On the other hand with the Playstation 4, PC, and iPod games it is very easy to do. I'm trying my best to include pictures with all my reviews when possible, so thanks for the advice. I'm still figuring this out but every little bit helps.

Yes, I see the problem : I only use pics I've taken as well, except for the boxes/covers when I don't own the game.
I use the screenshot feature of the emulators I use and printscreen when on PC. For TV games, I have to set my camera ( a Pentax from a christmas a couple years ago) on a tripod and manually set the parameters : not very easy to get something good.

A decent substitute to pictures could the use of paragraph titles in bold, to explain what you're going to talk about : I use that from time to time if there are things I want to talk about but can't easily illustrate with a screenshot.
