Not just cutting, but ending all support. Some businesses got lucky and were able to get an extension. But otherwise it's becoming entirely obsolete. You will also find that most software companies will eventually stop all compatibility with XP as well, including antivirus software.

You can still run it fine, just know that they're no longer offering updates or security patches and any security issues it has will not be fixed. Basically, it'll mean you're more likely to suffer from security breaches/viruses/etc.

You can upgrade to Vista/7. But really, if it's a native XP machine [meaning it was purchased with XP already on it], it's not worth it. The hardware is already extremely outdated and will operate slower. You're better off saving the money it'd take to buy a license for Vista/7 and putting it towards a new PC. Or at least one with Windows 7 on it.

Well I only use the machine to IRC, email and watch Netflix. So it's not like it's necessary. But it's not worth upgrading with the current hardware it has. I guess I'll just keep using it until I just can't use it anymore.

I actually bought a copy of Win 7 home for it, but I never really saw a need to put Win 7 on it. Not to mention it has to go on a new hard drive since I don't want to wipe what's on it.
