Saturday, I somehow managed to convince Bow to go to the Fresh Market to get steaks. I'm not sure if anyone else knows what this is, but Fresh Market is a small grocery store chain around here. I've never seen them out of state. Anyway, they carry only fancy stuff. It's like a rich person's grocery store. Everything is really expensive, and they only carry gourmet versions of everything. We don't shop there often, for obvious reasons, but they have the best cuts of steak anywhere in Raleigh. I got myself a Filet Mignon for the first time. They weren't all that expensive, I got a 12oz for the same price as a 12oz Outback Prime Rib.
I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to another cut of steak. That filet, which was about two and a half inches thick, was the best steak I've ever had, including eating out. It was perfectly grilled to medium rare. I mean, damn. I've rarely had a craving for something and have it come out better than I expect. This was definitely one of those occassions.
That's about it for this weekend. Must get more Filet Mignon later!
